Floral Preservation Art

This is my practice of drying and preserving flowers, in doing so creating pieces of floral art. Drying and preserving flowers is a wonderful way to create lasting pieces that capture the beauty of nature. I use several different techniques to make sure the flowers dry in their best possible state but the beauty of dried flower art lies in its imperfections and natural charm. Sometimes the flowers look quite different from their fresh state, but still beautiful.

I have always loved flowers but working in the wedding industry for almost a decade has deepened that love and interest. I am constantly inspired by the amazing creatives who work alongside me in this industry, especially the florists. I find such joy in creating one-off pieces, that not only have their own unique style but are also influenced by the work of another creative, the florist. I am primarily taking bridal bouquet commissions but also create pieces from flowers I’ve dried myself and previously dried flowers.

I like to think my pieces capture a little bit of the essence of a wedding day, in that the style of flowers, often reflects the bride and her style. Some are very ethereal and romantic while others bolder and brighter. My pieces are cast in epoxy resin and once taken care of can last forever.
